Near Term Future Mine/Vegetation Clearance Equipment

Mechanical Mine Sifting System (MMSS). The Mechanical Mine Sifting System is designed to remove mines from loose or previously scarified soil. The system is designed to clear a path 3.2 meters to a depth of 30 centimeters. Extracted mines are deposited to the side for subsequent disposition.

Uni-Disk. The Uni-Disk is a 1.2 meter wide tilling drum with a 340 rpm rotational speed that mounts onto the arm of an armored 20 ton or larger hydraulic attachment on a large construction vehicle. It is capable of clearing large agricultural, heavily vegetated and wooded areas and is especially useful in hard to reach places such as roadsides, along rail tracks, around bridges and other infrastructure. The Uni-Disk destroys AT and AP mines, while mulching vegetation and soil, to a depth of 50 cm. Damage from detonations can be easily and inexpensively repaired. The Uni-Disk has multiple use capability: interchangeable tilling drum, cutter head, and bucket. The bucket allows the excavator to be used in its normal construction role, a valuable asset for area reconstruction.
